Job Description: The main role of a Support Engineer is to support various projects, including but not limited to equipment/software demos, sales, contract inspections, etc., from a technical aspect to create reliable results for the sales/application team to present to customers. The support engineer will also provide technical support for customers through phone calls, emails, remote visits, or on-site visits. This important role requires professional conduct and customer orientation at all times.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program and operate all available 3D scanning systems at Xpert3D (e.g., ScanCobot, ScanBox, Alicona, etc.) to conduct scanning tasks for various purposes.
- Work out the best strategies for assigned contract inspection jobs in an efficient way to generate final reports and meet customer timelines.
- Support application/sales projects by investigating various scanning options, testing and analysing, etc.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge on all 3D scanning systems that Xpert3D has to offer our customers through provided training, e-learning, self-training, and studying.
- Provide technical support to existing customers on software/hardware issues.
- Document technical findings and feedback to application team to help improve scanning/demonstration/sales strategies.
- Follow Xpert3D procedures to manage technical data, maintain file structure, IT administrations, etc.
- Maintain good communications with entier Xpert3D team via emails, MS Teams, etc.
- Maintain tidiness and cleanliness in work and demo areas.
Must have technical skillsets:
- Very good understanding of engineering drawing, GDT, and math.
- Good capability to handle complicated or tedious dimensional requirements
- Fast learner of 3D CAD-based software
- Good troubleshooting skills on hardware and software
- Fluent in all major Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Good English, both verbal and written
Education, work experience and other requirements:
- A four-year degree in engineering, computer science, or physics is required. Equivalent work-related experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of North American work experience in manufacturing, metrology, or related industries.
- Previous work experience in 3D scanning or CMM is preferred.
- Have your own transportation with a valid driver license to travel within Canada.
- Have legal documents for traveling to USA.
- Able to lift 50 lbs to support on-site demo, trade show activities, etc.
Compensations:
- Start salary at $75k (based on 36 hours per week).
- 3 weeks of vacation
- $2000/year for flexible spending on health and dental
- Yealy bonus (determined by company owners)
